Asian Playwright Project

The Asian Playwright Project, launched in 2024, is an international network of performing arts organisations across the Asia-Pacific region, including Contemporary Asian Australian Performance (Sydney), Kyoto Experiment (Kyoto), National Theater & Concert Hall (Taipei), Seoul Performing Arts Festival (Seoul), National Asian Culture Center (Gwangju), Satellite and SquareSUms&Co (Auckland), and West Kowloon Cultural District (Hong Kong).

As part of the Asian Playwright Project, the Seoul Performing Arts Festival presents staged readings of <The Story of Descending the Long Slopes of Valparaíso> by Japanese playwright Yudai Kamisato and <Neometropolis> by Hong Kong playwright Pat To Yan. Both works are staged through new interpretations by Jun In Chul, artistic director of Theatre Company Dolpagu.
