Modern Chronicle of Sex in Korea

<All the Sex I’ve Ever Had> is about love and sex of seniors. Sex is a common theme that applies to everyone from ages 0 to 100. Their narratives start as personal, family-related stories, which expand to the stories of our society and shows the many facets of different lives. Stories of these ordinary people can offer us solace or courage.

Synopsis

The story begins with the birth of one of the seniors in 1922 and continues until the year 2022, narrating the life stories of the six seniors over the course of 100 years. They look back on their days as daughters, sons, friends, lovers, wives, husbands, mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers.

  • “On the stage, they free themselves of all social and systematic roles they had to play. And they stand complete in their bodies, which have been hidden and even denied themselves: the bodies that have clashed with sex and sexual intercourse that have been tabooed... (omitted) It is a declaration of their true selves and a pleasant moment of welcoming themselves to showing who they truly are. And most of all, it is an act of remembering and documenting themselves who were denied and forgotten in our systems and customs.”
    Lee Keyong-mi, Theater critic
  • “...Our social prejudice defines sex as an act only young adults are entitled to. Therefore, listening to seniors’ candid and confident confessions on their memories of sex and ongoing sexual activities themselves present us with thrilling experiences.”
    Nam Ji-su, Theater critic
