The artists test various perspectives of game as a concept that has clear rules, and play as a concept that suggests creativity in free forms, thereby discovering their social meanings. The artists attempt to liberate themselves from rules and enter senses through half a day’s time, from late afternoon to evening and from early afternoon to evening, which signifies the time of creation and end.
SynopsisThe performance starts from a game’s rules, then breaking them and finding new rules. Relationships become unclear when the rules are not there, and the concept of play kicks in and takes center. This is when your senses become the sole method of communication, pushing the artists to experiment how to handle relationships. During 4 hours of unknown rules, the environment where they face each other and resulting misunderstandings and tension generate new relationships and rules in turn. How do their bodies, light, sound and space react and band together as they change or dissemble the rules? They accept uncertainty as a domain of arts and view it as a situation that requires creativity. They view the state of not knowing and uncertainty not being ignorant, but a state that can unleash your creativity. In turn, they bring things we are not forced to look at, hence the states we perceive as “the things around the borders”, into the core tool of their play, expecting us to examine the states’ potential and think about ways of communication that are unleashed by sensing these states.
