Choreographer Choi Jin Young entered the world of dance with hip-hop before majoring in Korean traditional dance. He won the Grand Prize in the dance category of Jeonju Daesasub-nori. Currently he is creating performances based on Korean dance, and also working as a composer.

Choi Jin Young started his own creative work under his name when he received support for founding a group by Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation in 2019. The focus of his creative approach is the contemporary age permeating into the classics, and he greatly values the process itself, allowing a long time for developing a new project. Choi composes the music for his choreographies as well.
