The creation of I Sense What They Feel began by contemplating the possibility of physical sensations that enable sensory communication with a stranger.
By capturing and activating an immediate transmission of physical sensations to the viewers without verbal communication, the piece tries to form shared physical sensations within a circular auditorium.
Choreographer Soohyun Hwang has been deeply investigating sensation and perception, focusing on how physical experience operates between performing and viewing. Her major works include <I want to cry, but I'm not sad>(2016), <I Sense What They Feel>(2019) and <검정감각>(2019). Premiered in 2019, <검정감각> was awarded as Best Performance 2019 from the Korean Association of Dance Critics and Researchers.
