Since 2022, the festival has curated innovative works that expand and transform the performing arts of sound and new music, creating fresh sensory experiences of sound. In collaboration with Arts Korea Lab, the festival also offered creative experimentation through the 2023–24 “Sound & Digital Technology” creation lab.

This year’s forums and roundtables focus on the expansion of sound into the realm of contemporary art and the crossing of creative boundaries. Together with artists from across the Asia-Pacific, the discussions will explore questions such as: What is the current language of sound and new music in the performing arts in Korea? What kinds of performative narratives can sound generate? How can audiences’ sensory experiences be shaped solely through the auditory element of sound? And what constitutes sound dramaturgy today?
