Choi x Kang Project
Can the objects out of our sights be controlled? The performance Complement started with this question. Without being too serious, the work elaborates on how we are reacting to what is unpredictable.
Intention of ChoreographyThis work explores the performance of a camera as apparatus. When our perspective (camera) decreases, the three-dimensional unpredictability expands and the potential going beyond such a dimension increases limitlessly. The repetitive changes and performance beyond it lead the audiences to experience the expansion of their thoughts and imagination.

Led by Min-sun Choi and Jin-an Kang, the Choi x Kang Project focuses on connecting multidisciplinary experiments and external tools to the human body. They search for how to generate intuitive gestures based on movements. They performed as dancers of Korea National Dance Company of Korea from 2010 to 2016. After that, starting by winning a choreographic prize at the Seoul Dance Collection, they have reinforced their direction for performances. Since 2016, they have also gone global actively by collaborating with artists from Singapore and Bulgaria. In 2018, they won the jury’s prize at Competition I of the Yokohama Dance Collection, with Complement. being recognized for their potential. They are expanding their realm by pursuing collaboration with artists of different genres and by participating in multidisciplinary projects.
