Condensed aesthetics of the solo performance.
An adventure in search of an exile from oneself and liberation
The title ‘Sakinan göze çöp batar’ in Turkish corresponds to an adage that if you hold onto life, you will die: if you fight to death, you will live. That is, the harder you try to protect yourself, the more harmful result will follow. All these sequences presented by the solo are a quest toward essence of matters with a focus to the notion of depression and exile, showing a glimpse into infinite equanimity and persistence. The performance consists of a series of simple, yet implicative and specific sequences: a man sitting on a crate wearing a backpack, a man at the corner, a man beside a table, and a man holding a potted plant. The choreographer, Christian Rizzo, the artistic director at Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier / Languedoc-Roussillon, creates the solo performance with Kerem Gelebek, a dancer and actor
